I’m starting to get into a routine. Breakfast at 6am, workout, practice pool, interview again for job, wrote a letter to Patti, checked email, watched more random cube and locker searches. Seems like the warden does weekly walkthroughs. I heard the warden was in our unit just now. Many waited outside avoiding her, so I decided to walk right up to my wing. I needed to stand aside the hall as she passed me just outside of my wing. The guards were in here earlier today making sure everything was in order. Beds made, trash taken out, blankets over windows taken down. Minor stuff. I forgot to make my bed earlier, but got it made before she arrived. Last night I finished my book. Yesterday I probably read 100 pages of the 300 page book. The font was big, which was great considering it was the third book I’ve read in my life.
I overheard some conversations about drugs. Almost all of my neighbors were drug dealers. Sounded like one had a mom asking to use his drugs and vice versa. Some guy took too many pills and got rushed to the hospital to get his stomach pumped and charcoal given. Heard another guy say when he was getting off of them was told to put plastic all over his bed. He said he crapped all over it. They talked about many hard drugs and these stories of taking them and selling them. Almost all are repeat offenders. They say the money is too good. Many are caught with weapons and are not eligible for RDAP. Also if you are a repeat offender you are not eligible for RDAP- up to one year off.
Yesterday was a brisk, windy day, but today is warmer. I will try to be outside again before that ends soon. One guy said the short winter days go quicker than the long summer days. I don’t think he does as much outdoor activity as I do. Hopefully the activities make the days go by quickly as well. I heard one neighbor played flag football. I always sucked at football because I never played, but perhaps that is worth a try…
